About Us
Creating, cultivating, and curating beauty, goodness, and truth through the arts for the edification of the Church and the care of all culture.
Our Story
In 2011, Sarah Hunt & Jenni Curtin founded the non-profit organization, Livingston County Christian Musicians. LCCM raised over $60,000 for local non-profits and has brought together 40 local churches, and 100 local Christian musicians in support of the sacred arts. The goal of LCCM was to provide a place for Christians to engage in music, culture, and faith. Building upon the legacy of LCCM came a new vision for a collaborative effort to include all artistic mediums – This new vision is Tov Arts Collective.

What We Do
Tov Arts Collective is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides music performances, art events, memberships, book clubs, workshops, open studios, community fundraising, and more, to bring together artists, patrons, and churches with the goal of edifying fellow believers and caring for all of culture. Tov seeks to employ a wide array of artistic mediums such as music, visual arts, literature, and culinary arts.
Why Tov?
The Hebrew word tov (טוב), commonly translated as "good," carries deep theological significance, especially in the context of God’s creation and the creative arts. In the biblical account of creation, God repeatedly declares His work to be tov—from the light, to the land and sea, to humanity itself—indicating that goodness is inherent in the very fabric of creation.
Tov is not just an aesthetic judgment but a reflection of divine intention. In this sense, goodness is a quality that aligns with God's nature and His design for the world. For artists and creators, whether in visual art, music, or literature, creating something tov is to bring forth something that resonates with the goodness, truth and beauty of God—something that not only functions well or looks beautiful but also reflects God’s character. Thus, tov connects human creativity to the divine, urging creators to produce works that align with the moral, aesthetic, and spiritual harmony established by God.
God Created & Saw it was Tov
Our secondary logo, the ampersand (&), is a symbol that seeks to embody the divine abundance that God shares with His creation and the medium-inclusive vision of Tov Arts Collective. In the creation narrative of Genesis, the word "and" appears again and again—God speaks and says, “Let there be…” followed by “and there was” culminating in "and God saw it was good.” The rhythm of "and" suggests not just an ordered world, but one full of harmony and potential. As artists and creators, we are not simply relying on human imagination alone; we are tapping into the boundless, transcendent creativity that comes from God. The beauty, goodness, and truth that guide our work are not generated by our efforts—they are gifts from God, flowing through us.

The Team

Sarah Hunt
Founder & Artistic Director
Sarah holds a BME from Calvin College University where she found her passion for choral music and her calling to a vocation in the arts. Sarah has lived in Brighton, Michigan for 11 years and served as Director of the Livingston County Youth Choir, the Livingston County Women’s Chorus, founder of Livingston County Christian Musicians, music teacher at Livingston Classical Academy, and currently the Associate Director of Worship at Cornerstone Church. Sarah has found joy working in both the classroom and church and has come to believe that music in both spaces is transformative, opening doors to faith otherwise closed. Sarah fervently agrees with Dallas Willard that “Beauty is goodness made manifest to the senses” and that, though more developed, the calling she received as a young student remains—that the world needs more goodness, truth, and beauty.

Jenni Curtin
Founder & Artistic Director
Jenni Curtin is a lifelong musician and passionate storyteller whose voice is as full as her life. A devoted wife to Tom and mother of ten, she has dedicated her talents to nurturing young voices and fostering a love for the arts. Jenni has led and directed children’s and youth choirs, assisted with adult ensembles, and currently teaches middle school liturgical music while directing the choir and musicals at St. Patrick School in Brighton. As a co-founder of Livingston County Christian Musicians—now the dynamic Tov Arts Collective—Jenni continues to build artistic community and collaboration. She has also provided vocal direction for Child of the Promise and other performances in the Livingston County area. Jenni is happiest when singing with others, crafting beautiful harmonies, and sharing her love for music and the arts with all who listen.

Jenn Hershberger
Co-Founder & Director of Communications
Jenn received her vocational calling into the arts after taking a pottery class in high school. She went on to receive her BFA in Sculpture from Biola University and her MA in Theology & Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary. Jenn has a passion for incorporating the visual arts into all ministry aspects and has worked over the years to help churches reimagine their use of creative media, graphic design, and communications. Jenn is currently a studio technician and resident potter in Howell, Michigan, and owner of Pine House Creative. Both her design work and pottery are heavily influenced by her experience of God’s presence within Michigan landscapes and her love of Wendell Berry.
Statement of Faith
Tov Arts Collective adheres to the historic Christian faith and holds the Apostles Creed as its statement of faith.
The Apostles Creed Modern English
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Tov board members and artists are required to affirm the statement of faith.
As a multi-denominational organization whose members are Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant, we emphasize Christian unity and the Imago Dei of humankind as we seek to share edifying, encouraging, educational, and formative art experiences.
